It has no tamper …
Wire red to 12+
Wire black to 0v
Wire blue and yellow to alarm

Does it matter which way blue and yellow go and do I leave all jumpers as they came as

They set the resistances for alarm and tamper. You have them in the correct position if you are using this detector to replace the one that you posted a photo of.

OK tried wiring like said above but no joy when I try and set the alarm the zone 3 on the panel with the new PIR just stays lit and get a constant beeping. Lights on PIR all come on when walking past then go out.
Do I need to do a factory reset???

No ….ok check wiring first….take the blue and yellow out at the detector and twist the ends together …..does the alarm now set ? If not ….it’s a wire issue ….if it does then it’s an issue with how you have wired the detector …

Wired them together still no joy will check the run of wire in the garage some of it looks a bit ropey
I will get back to when I've checked it.

Are you sure that it’s that detector ? Looking at your alarm panel it’s green and white on zone 3 ….you have blue and yellow at the detector end ….is there a joint or does it run to another detector …

Yes, I notice that as well the bloke who fitted the alarm 29 years ago must change colour halfway through. yes, zone 2 is the landing PIR blue and yellow.
But the good news is you were spot on there was a break in the yellow wire it was trapped between the roof joist and a supporting brick about 400mm from the PIR.
Is it ok to use connecter bloks or is the something better?

a little confused.

Firstly do you know which zones correspond to which sensors in which rooms?
If you don't then you should do a walk test.
When you do the walk test, if your on your own you can do a latching walk test (19), device activates and stays illuminated.
If you have someone with you a non latching walk test (06)will show the zone just activated.
If you do the non latching walk test and you are at the keypad and the lights are constantly on then a sensor maybe picking you up there is a fault somewhere pr a door is left open.


if the wiring isn't joined then, and the picture of the sensor to be replaced is correct, then the device cant be zones 1,3 or 5
as these use white and green and orange and brown.

then when wiring up the DT, you will have power (red and black) the alarm terminals with two wires and these would be wired up back at the panel the panel.
