Texecom Alarm

The thing that winds me up is that there are sensors and panels for sale where no one says 'thats not compatible', but I should know what I'm buying - so I look at all literature from texecom and even they have no compatibility chart or advice that a product only works with 'x', leading me to of course assume that a texecom PIR should work with a texecom panel.
Thats not true.

The Texe web site clearly shows what detector works with what panel.

Clearly not clearly.

Please show me where.

That's the range, I've already seen that, but thanks anyway.

What I'm after is compatibility information.

Best you look more carefully then.

I'll probably be better talking to Texecom and asking them, since the range offered doesn't say 'only works this this' or 'doesn't work with that'. I did email their tech support, I'll call them if I haven't heard by the afternoon.

It clearly states which Detectors go with your kit.
How complicated can it get?

Well, I can't see that. All I see is a range of sensors available. Would you be able to help out and tell me where it says that and on which page please?

You've got a Veritas. What does it say under Veritas?

Doesn't say anything about compatibility under veritas.

I don't have a Prestige, but a Prestige may work, seeing as Alert Electrical sell a Texecom kit with a Veritas panel and Prestige sensor. But no information regarding the other sensors.

I'll see what Texecom have to say. Without being rude, you clearly know which goes with what, or assume to, or I assume you do, but we're going the long way round here rather than 'look there at X is says Y there'.

Well I called Texecom and posed the question and was told the Prestige QD will work with the Veritas Excel, so I can have quad detection.

The connections are the same however, so I don't actually know at this point why one is compatible and why one isn't.

The connections might be screw terminals but the devices' internal components are completely different - the QD has standard 0v,12v tamper pair and alarm pair terminals.

The AMQD has test, set, 0v, 12v, T-EOL and RLED terminals.

The AMQD is designed to work with a specific type of panel whereas the QD will work with a bog standard panel such as the Texecom Veritas range.

Screw terminals have nothing to do with it, that's just a means of termination.
