Hi I would like to wire Texecom siren on an Enforcer Panel and have the backlight turn on and off via user outputs. I have wired Core into 0v on siren and wired into PGM and link it with coms

But doesn’t seem to work is this possible to do I know u can do it on Euro panel as NC and link C to 0v on the top left relay

Which siren you using as the Texecom one doesn’t have that option. Had to check the manual to make sure my memory wasn’t failing me.

The odyssey X LED back light wires into the 12V (A) and 0V (D) terminals.

So controlling the LED back light just need power to flow through it.

So what do you have and how is it wired?

The enforcer has a power limit from memory it was much lower than SAB draw in alarm from a Texecom odyssey sounder.

60mA I think it says in the manual for Texecom, Orisec one can draw more and believe that has an terminal for back light control but would have to check to be certain.

Hi Guys thanks for the reply, after posting I figured it out but I’ll share anyway.

In the texecom odyssey x siren wire it as normal but undo the backlight negative & twist with a spare core and jelly crimp it & wire into PGM on Enforcer PCB.

Then you go into change outputs
Endstation outputs? press yes till u get PGM O/P make this User defined 1 (0170)

Then go to User output? Yes then output no 1 name it Siren backlight and type to be Latched

Then go on Home control 2.0 app & in Automate you will see the output there this allows customer to turn backlight on and off on the siren so it isn’t always on. This can also be done on Euro & Texecom panels it was just my first time doing it on Enforcer panel client requested

Glad it’s working.

What versions of bell box and what mode?

Just the enforcer has a 500mA fuse on that board if I recall correctly. In alarm SAB mode for the odyssey range the siren could be greater than 500mA. It will sit pretty until the alarm goes off if the draw is greater than 500mA.

The BE (eco version 1 piezo with back light) should be just under in SAB mode.

285mA SAB
18mA standby
100mA strobe
58mA back light

The B version (full version two piezos with back light) is over in SAB mode.
445mA SAB
18mA standby
100mA strobe
58mA back light

LC or SCB mode would bring it under, but won’t be as loud.

I’m not a fan of the wired Delta bells. The last company I worked for installed them all the time, and I was constantly up and down ladders replacing faulty sirens. Either the module would fail causing tamper faults even when linked out or there’d be a WD fault.

I’ve always used Texecom bells and never had an issue with fuses blowing.

Bell used: Texecom WDC-0001 Odyssey X-BE External Sounder (Illuminated).

I have never had a faulty wired delta bell ….ive seen plenty of poorly installed delta bells with the lock screw and back tamper s few not installed …
