Thanks folk for your help

So today I finally added a new rad to the the spare room (it had no heating before). Drained off the CH loop, bled radiators, fixed new rad to wall, tee'd off the the supply and return pipework, solder necessary pipework, see up or thermostat etc, turned back on water and was pleasantly surprised by the lack of a leak

Just wanted to thank kevplumb, D_Hailsham, bengasman, dextrous, IJWS15, neds, holty. doitall, twgas for all the answers to my newbie question over the past weeks. This forum is really useful for weekend warriors like myself. My 6 month daughter will now have a nice warm room to sleep in now
