If anyone does use one of these springs on lead make absolutely sure that the earth cable does not touch the lead sheath but is between two parts of the spring.
It means there is no risk of damage to the lead.
That BTW is the risk with the BS951 clamp, the lead is only a few mm thick and if not applied correctly the corner of the solid metal part can pierce the lead
