The sad thing is this is all causing more racial divide.
How can warnings on programmes be increasing racial division?
That's like saying warnings of scenes of sex, increases casual STDs, or warnings of violence increases abuse.
Warnings of unacceptable activity has multiple purposes.
1. Warns anyone who does not wish to view such material.
2. Makes people aware that such activity is no longer acceptable.
3. Warns parents, in case they do not wish their children to be exposed to such material.

I think the same thing also that it all does very little about the fundamental problems - zero in all probability.

The thing that kicked it off will probably result in a changes in police restraint methods and has already been discussed in some countries.

Best not forget indigenous people as well. A canadian video was broadcast. Unusually it showed the whole thing from the person being restrained getting out of their car. No details of why though.

Instead of such bland assertions, how about explaining how you think the removal of some programmes with racist attitudes or behaviour, or adding warnings to such programmes will increase division?

I think they mean that people who are fundamentally racist will be enraged that their racism is no longer considered acceptable, and will become even more racist in revenge.

In the same way that drunk drivers increased their drunkenness in resentment when public opinion turned against them.

Oops - my mistake - no they didn't.

No. It is a perceived issue.
I perceive something which turns out to be real.
I don't know it's real until I can touch it, smell it, feel it.
Opinions, emotions, reactions can only be perceived because they can't be touched, felt, smelled, etc.

I meant the general thing being done not specifics. Comedy and race pass. All I can say on that score from personal experience is that it's not something I have heard a coloured person complain about. Other aspects of their problems yes. It's odd really as I can recollect when there were hardly any coloured people around at all but for some reason people can tell I am not a racist. I've seen plenty of "news" over the years that could make me one but it hasn't. I have seen what happened to coloured people. Low paid jobs / not wanted . can't rent properties and ................ . I suggested that people watched the BBC2 Windrush documentary that was on last night. It filled some details in that I wasn't aware of such as this - too young at the time but capable of seeing colour.

Also showed what that resulted in. The program does have it's bad points though - snippets of politicians talking. Without all of it that can be very misleading. The reason for that campaign is explained in an odd sort of way in detail. I'd wonder about Churchill causing a famine in the above. Details are needed. It reminds me of the Irish potato famine - not as simple as some would have people believe.

Why do you think they would complain to you?

Says it all really. What colour were they?

You seem to be going round in circles.

Has it changed your opinion on anything?
Do you still maintain that Enoch Powell wasn't racist?

Do you still maintain that Enoch Powell wasn't racist?

In a sense he wasn't. He was concerned about a growing problem as was realised early on before it even happened. It's not a view I agree with but a blunt way of putting it is that if we didn't have coloured immigrants we wouldn't have a racial problem at all. I see things differently. We have them, we've had them for a good few years now and any attempts to solve their problems haven't had that much effect in some areas. On the other hand things have improved in terms of prospects - for some especially in more recent years.

White European immigrants are OK, then, no problems with racism, xenophobia, discrimination, prejudice, etc?
Enoch Powell's speech, April 20 1968. Do you recall any other event around the same time?

The concerning popularity of Enoch Powell and his racist speech
There have been no "rivers of blood" in Britain, but Enoch Powell and his racist thinking still find acceptance.
