of fridge freezers  We ordered an LG fridge freezer from john lewis a couple of weeks ago. It should have been delivered tomorrow but today they have said it will be 4-6 weeks due to recent hot weather increasing demand

I find that rather odd, does that suggest people never had fridges last month when it was colder?

I didn't find it odd but maddening. I suppose the hot weather has put extra strain on fridge/freezers compressors and a lot of them have given up the ghost.

Me too.

Especially as it's JL.

I'm smelling a large rodent.

Are they trying to tell you they only knew the day before the delivery that you are not getting your order?

What they mean is that there's been an almighty cock-up and your fridge has actually been delivered to someone else by mistake and now you're at the back of the queue.

I would get on the blower and start complaining.

Start your conversation with, "The reason I shop at John Lewis is because I know I am going to be treated to first class customer service...."

if you ordered in store, you can demand compensation for delayed delivery.

If you ordered another way, if the goods have not been delivered within 30 days, you are entitled to a full refund.

Threaten using social networking to tell people about their awful service.

Every cloud has a silver lining.... They just cannot give heaters away.

Sorry aj but I think you may be in for a long wait and a lot of b*ll sh*t from John Lewis. The rule is NEVER buy a fridge freezer from John Lewis.

I took a day off work and waited for the delivery from 08.00am till 9.45pm, and it didn't turn up. When it did turn up the next day, it was dented. I accepted the dent for a reduction in cost as it would be hidden - it didn't work. Rang them up and they said they couldn't collect for another two weeks. Don't be fooled into thinking John Lewis is the best store, it isn't.

Cancel now and get yourself down to Stellisons who will deliver it within a few days (inc Saturdays) and you'll probably get it a bit cheaper as well.

I've ordered plenty from John Lewis, they've always been fine and they don't take any money until its available to deliver.

Nevertheless, if they give a delivery date and it fails to materialise, you have the right to compensation.

Honestly. It was the worse experience of any purchase I have ever made. And, it wasn't due to the incompetence of just one or two people either, the whole thing was a farce. JL never even replied to my letter of complaint. And, they had the money up front. We were five weeks without a fridge freezer. I ended up taking a total of three days off work and probably a total of 4 hours of phone calls sometimes hanging on for 25 mins just to be cut off.

Stellisons said 8am Saturday and there it was at 8am.

:) :) :) :) :)

We didn't get anywhere with them so cancelled the order and were promised a refund but this made me laugh.............................................*Refund will be given once we have received the items*
