The Lottery

Shortly after the Lottery began I regularly entered every week for, if I remember, about a year.
At the end of that time, I won the grand total of

absolutely bugger all.

I've never done it since.

Biggest con out now. Selling dreams before they increased the numbers. WT F do they think they're selling now? Chances of the jackpot increased suddenly from a 14m to 1 chance to 42M to 1 chance of the big one. Better chance on the Euro lottery (and the potential of a bigger win on a rollover)

wife carried on doing it when the price went up ~~ felt trapped sods law and all that lol ~ one week we had four balls and only got £15 while 3 balls paid out 25 ~~ :(
was a release when they made it millions of more times difficult to win with the extra balls, and we stopped doing same number lark. ~ just do the odd one now.
I see no one won tonight WED 30th how many weeks is that without a jackpot winner ?

Ever since the Lottery began, whenever there is a Main Bank Holiday coming up, there is always a very large Rollover .

How does the Lottery Machine know the dates of forthcoming Bank Holidays ??

:) Silly forum. Is that really a rude word?
I shouldn't have thought the word 'pi$$' would be thought of as being offensive. I think it was even used in the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures the other day, and that's a children's programme! (Actually he might have said 'pee'.)

When we were on redundancy notice about 16 years ago one of the office blokes had served his 90 days notice and came in on the Monday to collect his cheque.
After a trip to the offices he came on to the shop floor to say his goodbyes to everyone. It transpired he had ripped the cheque up and asked the wage clerk to make another one out, for the same amount, to Alder Hey Childrens Hospital. The reason being he had won £1.6m on the Saturday lottery and didn't need his redundancy.

Idly flicking through a rag this morning, while waiting for second born's hair to be copied chopped, and saw some woman claiming to have lost out on the £35 million Euro lotto, due to some I.T. issue.
Something like they play a random number generator every draw, on a roiling basis, but couldn't top their account up despite a number of attempts.
If true, a very large OUCH

Still doing the "tax on stupidity" and still not winning. (n)
Never known anyone who had any sort of decent win on it.
The dad of a chap I worked with had a big win on the pools way back in the early 70s. £45K IIRC. That'd be a million quid now I suppose.
