Almost unnoticed whilst everyone is concerned about the 'virus'...

MPs back bill to authorise MI5 and police crimes

"MPs have backed the latest stage of a bill to allow undercover agents to commit crimes on operations.

The government says the legislation will give a "sound legal footing" for those who work to "protect the public".

The next step towards a 'licence to kill'!

Good! They’re working for us against criminals. They can’t do that with one hand tied behind their back.

So you believe that those who are sworn to uphold the law are given carte blanche to break the law?

Is there a competition on this forum as to who can copy and paste news headlines to get the most reactions? Utter tripe and pity you if you can`t see past the headlines.

undercover agents to commit crimes

not just undercover agents.

And I don't see that murder, torture, or the wrongful proroguing of Parliament are excluded from crimes that the government empowers itself to commit.

The Cummings government was very annoyed when it found that our Supreme Court had the power to rule on its illegal actions.

Abolishing the Human Rights Act and authorising criminality are undesirable policies.

There is a point ; registering one's position on the subject.
Not necessarily, perhaps on this occasion.

Especially in regards to Brexit, Covid, BLM

It's a Cumming strategy: throw out a controversial dead cat, then wait for the outrage from the opposition, then attack them as being against the will of the people......which right wing supporters can vent their anger at.

Boris Johnson tries it every week against Starmer.

"You aren't supporting this government in its fight against the virus blah blah blah"

So no, registering ones position is not as simple as it seems against a govt that thrives on populist narrative, divide and conquer, tribalism etc
