..Russian officials will be in a magistrates court, in London this morning for the opening round of a fight for the return of three financiers who are pleading for political asylum rather than go home to face charges of swindling £1billion in a bogus oil deal.
President Putin is already angry with Britain for sheltering what Moscow claims are a number of Chechen terrorists who have been given refugee status here.....

Excuse me ... uhm, who is paying for this ? and to whom ? More to the point .. for what ? Come on, surely this is some sort of reality tv thing isn't it ?

Whether they are or whether the Chechens, are not terrorists .. I bet they ain't living next door to a member of Parliament ... I wonder what skills they may make use of here ?

However, I would say that holding a school hostage and killing innocents in an attempt to gain political leverage is terrorism. So if what Russia is saying is correct, we are harbouring terrorists.

I am sure our government would be pretty miffed if there was an IRA bombing and Germany then gave asylum to all the prime suspects (note I did not use America as an example there, I'm being hypothetical!)

Get the Russian police/FSB to give us irrefutable evidence, and if these Chechnyan's are terrorists then hand the bu**ers over.

But as to the chechens, who are the terrorists? Suppose Russia had invaded britain, trashed the place, flattened London, killed half your family, occupied us for 10 years. What would you do?

Would you maybe sneak into Russia and sieze a cinema full of people to publicise what was going on in your country? Would you maybe take a school hostage? Would you maybe do absolutely anything at all which stood a chance of hurting your enemy? Try to make them think that perhaps it was not worth the losses to carry on occupying your country?

Or perhaps you lived in Falluja (sorry about the spelling) Some foreign power, or powers have already invaded your country and dropped bombs all over the place, then they totally destroy the place because they are looking for terrorists. That's ok, what's a few innocent lives compared to possibly killing the terrorists? Then any retalliation proves they were right and the place was full of terrorists.

I just hope when people get locked up, the supporters are the first to suffer. It would at least show they accept a few innocents' suffering is worth the sacrifice.

Margaret Thatcher, Tony Blair or for that matter any prime minister including Churchill for terrorising the innocent populations of other countries, you can't criticise one without the other they are all as guilty as the other one.
