It's the same here. People whose lives relied on the liberties afforded to them by EU membership or whose businesses were facilitated by the single market were duped into voting against their own interests. They're now screwed and the government aren't interested.

Ending the "power" of the unions has meant that businesses can no longer exploit workers, no longer drive down wages and conditions, no longer call employees "self-employed contractors", no longer get away with insecure employment practices like zero-hours contracts, no longer sack people and immediately re-employ them on worse terms, no longer rely on the taxpayer to top up the wages of their poorly paid employees, no longer preside over an ever-increasing inequality between executive and employee remuneration, no longer refuse to invest in training the next generation in preference to buying in skills from abroad...
