It is not law "yet" to require an Electrical Safety Report..........although I personally have got one done for my house. The electrics just need to be checked over but anyone decent would for thier own peace of mind get a NICEIC Electrician to do a periodic safety report..........this can be done for a number of years................I personnally ask for a 5 year one before I rent my property out & get the electrician to do anything required to get a 5 year one.................but as I say its not a legal requirement like the Gas Safety Certificate is.

Thankyou, for everyones helpful advise. I think I will get my own electician round to take a look just to be on the safe side as I know my landlord wont want to spend any money on getting a test done. Thanks again,
