So are you seriously suggesting that if corporal punishment were reintroduced that it would have an effect on the number of kids caught with knives? These little gits don't give a stuff about rules or wrong and right. They carry these knives like bloody trophies! I'd hate to think what they'd do if some young teacher decided to cane them! And as I have said in my previous post, there are plenty of thugs who can be/are teachers. If you reintroduce caning then that can just as easily be abused by a teacher! And if you think I'm letting ANY of them use a cane on my son you're VERY much mistaken. Its about bringing your children up right. That they should respect teachers (as long as the teacher respects them). Respect is a two way thing otherwise its not respect.

Yes there are vacancies but there are vacancies in many professions. People leave profession's all the time. That's life. Some will leave because they are tired of it. Some will leave because they are retiring. Some will leave because they are having a family. Some will leave for more money etc etc. We all do these things but I cannot see how bringing back a flaming cane is gonna tempt any DECENT teachers back or into the profession.

'Soles' was a deliberate attempt at sarcasm you numpty! As in they are probably trodden on. I do however have to admit a failure to insert quotation marks to give emphasis to that point.

The word you were so desperately trying to articulate is 'Sonny' not Sunny! You Plonker! The term 'Sonny Jim' is said by 'Old People' to 'Younger People' meaning: "young lad" and I am struggling to find any reason not to believe that you are on your holidays from school. So 'Sonny Jim' is a term I would use to you rather than the other way round.

I do have to admit however that I find you entertaining! So I'm either too drunk right now (I'm on holiday and have no work tomorrow so don't worry lads :) ) or I'm getting too old... If I'm honest its probably both!
