If I asked someone in the street did they know where the Post Office is, they wouldn’t ask why do I need to know or for what reason do you need to know where the Post Office is.

If you asked me that question where we live I might well ask that. There is a post office. but it is a tiny one inside a larger shop, and only provides a limited range of services. I would hate to waste your oh so valuable time sending you on a wild goose chase.

Often the reason for asking a question is just as pertinent as the question itself.

You and I know, you’re just nitpicking for the sake of providing a response.

I made no reference to my time being valuable, although I’ve wasted far more time responding to unnecessary responses, including yours.
