Looking at renovating my bathroom and replacing the bath with a walk in shower at the other end. Would like to do as much as I can myself but not brave enough to take on the tiles.
My current subfloor is tongue and groove chipboard and it's pretty solid. I've got an impey membrane tanking kit for waterproofing the floor and I'd prefer not to raise the floor if I can avoid it. Is there much benefit to overboarding where the boards are protected from water ingress?
The other issue is my boards have a skirting gap at the bottom, should I be extending them right down to the floor or is it preferable to leave a small gap and bridge with the tile? I'm planning to use paint on tanking for the wet area walls so they shouldn't be soaking water up anyway.
Cheers!
