with different building regs in scotland it would be REALLY helpfull if we could have seperate flags for england/scotland/wales/northern ireland rather than just the union jack for people who have specified a county/city

its still optional to select these though, isn't it? or am i thinking of the location selector? we'll still get 'tards coming on reckoning they are from bosnia or pakistan, when they actually live in dudley - wanting to know how to wire a light switch, then getting annoyed when we refer them to google wiring regs of bosnia or pakistan

Excuse me all your Scots and Northern Irish!

I always thought the Union Flag was a BRITISH flag?

Certainly all the world cup euphoria was using a white and red flad for England.

Why should Scots and Northern Irish not be proud to be part of a united GB.

Although I live in England I like to have those areas as part of the GB and if they have slightly different Building regs I try to stay up to date on their differences.

I think it has more to do with the fact there are differences in Law between England/Wales and Scotland, Northern Ireland, for instance Part P vs Building Warrants which is not slightly different, it is entirely different and location dependent. You sometimes get someone asking a question but forgetting to add this little important detail. I don't think it is an Anti-Britain campaign, just a bit of help to assist us in giving the correct advice.

Some users show e.g. "Location: Cumbria/Yorkshire/Hampshire/Shetlands"

Others prefer not to say.

I suppose when they do say, we can try to look at it.

Those who pretend to live somewhere else surely have only themselves to blame if they are taken at their word.

It would be easier, I am useless at geography and sometimes end up looking at a map just to check if a county is either in Wales or Scotland. I can get myself lost travelling in Yorkshire, my excuse being they either moved Ferrybridge power station or the A1.

They have moved the A1. To the other side of Ferrybridge.

Any serious user correctly shows his country and the more detailed location as well.

If somebody like Splinter says Lebanon then we all know thats unlikely and I would take little heed of anything else he might say.

I wont even answer posts from people in foreign countries. In know nothing of the standards/regs outside of Britain so cant help. If the poster is stupid enough to lie about where they live then they dont get an answer.
Maybe just add something in the rules to suggest giving correct information on location and maybe add it to peoples profiles.
