This was thread was about China's construction industry and now it is a political fight about British politics.

Is "shoddy construction due to inadequate regulation" out of scope?

It is "in scope" but the scope in China is far far wider and deeper where regulations could be seen as permitting ( maybe even encouraging ) shoddy construction to ensure prestigious projects are completed on schedule.

In regard to the construction industry;

The problem with nearly all politicians mainly Tory is that they think a skilled tradesman is merely manual labour. Chucking eastern Europe at our skills shortage is the answer .

Of course it hasn't its just made it worse. MPs would know one end of a hammer to the other.

Industry leaders have had a free hand at ripping the nation off by importing unskilled cheap labour and using inferior materials for years & years.

In the same breath they want to upskill people they also want to underpay them. It's the Tory ideology we want a high skills, high wage economy lol

It's just a lie to keep getting people like yourself voting for them, and you do and then you complain. It's on you.

If the labour is unskilled then is it doing unskilled work? If the labour is unskilled is it doing skilled work?

As to using inferior products - is that due to weak regulations and monitoring or that they are using the incorrect products and not being caught out? Grenfell?

If we were living in a world where people could get secure long term employment, with prospects of career progression, then we would be living in a world where training, experience and skills were valued and worth investing in.

I used to live in a place like that.

I think it's both of the above, and a bit if each

As much as I try, I cannot disagree with you.

What's my alternative?
Jeremy Corbin & Diane Abbott

They are not in the running, so not an alternative available to you.

Some of Jeremy's ideas are so shocking that they are worth thinking about.

I've not had a chance to vote again

Should I edit and say a Toyota or Honda to make a better point?

I think it is very unlikely that you ever got the chance to vote for both Jeremy Corbin and Diane Abbot. I suppose you might be a member of the Labour party and had some kind of leadership vote. Hasn't there been another vote since then?

No general election. Last local elections I could bring myself to vote Tory. Couldn't hold my nose to vote Labour.
