2 small tabs at rear of base where it meets pan, slide these across a few mm then you should be able to slide whole thing forward

Just a quick update to this post. We had the same seat with the same problem. It turned out to be a bottom fix seat fitted before the toilet was installed. The solution was to prise the seat off with a screwdriver on one side ( wrap the screwdriver in j cloth to prevent scratching the porcelain) and then use a hack saw to saw off the bolts. Debris removed and the toilet readily took a new top fix seat. Hope this helps someone else.

Just wanted to add my experience to this thread. I had exactly the same toilet seat, on presumably the same toilet, going into the same vanity unit.

I removed the toilet seat this morning after much faffing about trying to find a solution, watching every YouTube video I could find and reading a bunch of forum threads.

Suffice to say, there is no simple way to remove this style of seat if you haven't got access to the open back of the pan. I removed mine by carefully levering up the base plate with a nylon car trim tool, sliding a mini hacksaw blade between the slightly lifted plate and the porcelain, and sawing carefully through the (fortunately plastic) bolts each side. The bolts cut away really easily (prob 45 seconds of slow careful sawing each side) and could then be pushed through from above to leave the holes usable.

If you want to use this method you'll most likely want a mini hacksaw without a supporting arm (so the blade is simply held in a slot in the handle). If you're careful it's quite possible to do it without scratching your porcelain.
