There's alot to be said about working close to home. I used to work 5 miles away. Now I work for myself it's usually within a 2 mile radius.

I'm doing a job that is some 143 miles from my front door..not sure if it counts though as I am staying up there during the week and only coming home for the weekends...

No - that doesn't count.

I remember a radio show doing a survey once, and IIRC, the "winner" was a guy who commuted from Wakefield to Tilbury...

6000 Miles!

Thats right 6000 miles

im a plane flyer to america but i dont fly there someone else does (a russian guy) - i just fly back. You need a separate licence to fly clockwise/anti-clockwise because of the inverted turbulance. Ive not got my anti-wings yet but soon.

Where do i collect my prize? :D

i drive 65 miles each way every day and the longestr bit of dual carriage way is 6 miles.
42 miles each way on single carriageway on twist roads.
anyone who knows the glyn valley in cornwall will vouch for the bad journey to truro from plymouth.

When I lived in York, I used to work for a research agency down in Leatherhead. I was officially based at home, but had to go down once or twice a week.

Funnily enough, at the time, I thought nothing of getting up at 3.45, leaving home at 4, trudging 230 miles down the A64, A1, M18, M1, A43, M40 & M25, but nowadays, if I ever have to get out of bed before 7 I feel like I've been shot in the head.

i walk down 10 stairs and then about 25 paces to my office at home, when im not going out to a job!
