They are saying that the guy shot in the terror raid was 'too ill to question'.

Yet he walked out of hospital without any bother.

It was once commonplace for someone to be questioned IN hospital never mind out of hospital.

So if there really was an anthrax bomb located in London with the potential to kill tens of thousands we can't ask where it is because someone is 'too ill'?

This country had better wake up big-time instead of pandering to the Lefties.

Have faith, Joe - The police tend to be overcautious on terror, not undercautious, so I'm sure they have it in hand. Its a consequence of the 24 hour news society where we expect permanent updates, but sometimes we just can't have them.

I have my own spidey-senses telling me how this story will pan out, but I'll leave it a day or two, just in case I'm proved wrong....... ;)

The story changes by the hour.

First it was reliable information that they had a chemical weapon, one of the brothers had been shot and inspection of the police guns showed that one had been fired.

Then it was one brother shot the other

Then it was the gun went off in a struggle and they have found no evidence of weapons or chemicals but are continuing to look.

A question: if you have your gun out, do you get near enough to your unrestrained suspect to let him grab it?

The only thing they have in hand is what they use to pis* with or a brown envelope, allegedly.

Of course, they could be planning to load up a bomb with a load of E120, or whatever it is that they do put in Red Smarties and Sunny Delight. Set that off in the middle of London, and the whole of the capital's workforce will be turned into hyperactive stone-throwers. The Met will then need to draft in extra smacking-power and phone their Dad's to find out how to deal with it.....

Present chemmy search ...
State of the law at present -- They'll have to 'plant' something if the search proves fruitless.

It's rather odd that everyone in here is treating the matter as a complete joke. Soon be 7/7 - let's party! Whoo ha!

Oh, I'll throw my hat into the ring then.....

There are quite a lot of 'terror' arrests in Manchester - Originally they used to be done in a huge media fanfare, but in almost all cases, after shutting off whole neighbourhoods, you would get a small line or two in the paper a couple of weeks later saying that everyone had been released without charge, or they had found a couple of minor things like missed speeding tickets came out in the wash during the follow up.

This would have been exactly the same if it weren't for the bloke getting shot. That's why they had to release their intelligence, and I don't doubt for a second that it was in good faith, that there was something serious they were looking for. That then led to the 'chemical bomb primed and ready to go off, squirrelled away to somewhere in London' headlines.

Now, I would say that if said device was at the house, they would have found it by now. If someone had to take it away in an emergency, they would have set it off during this morning's rush-hour at the latest. I think even the police secretly have the prospect of another ****-up dawning on them, as I'm sure the hunt for this rogue device would be a lot more of a national emergency if they were as convinced today of its existence as they were on Saturday morning.

So in this case, I don't think it is worth getting bent out of shape worrying about it. Let's hope I'm right.......

I suppose that stash of ammonium nitrate was immagination too?

It's only a matter of time until something happens, (Truck bomb in Trafalgar Square ?) and if people like you continue to take the lackadaisical "It'll never happen', approach - then you deserve all you get.

I don't know. If we carry on shooting innocent plumbers who look a bit foreign, and arresting people, keeping them locked up for a while then releasing them without charge, does that make things better?

There was a time when UK was suffering IRA attacks, when we used to arrest some Irishmen, any Irishmen, beat them up till they confessed, then lock them up for 15 years and let them out when it became obvious they were innocent.

That's a good way of generating additional hatred and helping the terrorist recruit more sympathisers.

It was in a storage compound somewhere near London.

Probably turn out to be a half-used bag of lawn treatment in the garden shed....

Much as I'd like to just take your word for it, any chance of a link from a news source..?
