Tooth brush charger in bathroom cabinet

A German company used to make a box specially designed to fit in the corner of a bathroom cabinet. Elektra I think they are called.

They won’t plug into the German sockets unless you enlarge the holes towards the center.

I got a single off eBay for £10 in beige.
For camper vans, made by contactum

Had a rummage through my archives and found an assembly instruction for boxes Pt.Nos. EBE-60R-SW and EBE-120R-SW which were installed in the UK but guess they are now discontinued. Might be worth searching on line for second hand.

I used these.

As mentioned need to slightly enlarge the holes.
They need a deep backbox. At least 25mm

Technically they are non compliment. But the rules are rather out of date.

There are also these. Available in white. From BG

Also would need holes enlarging.

Useful for charging shaver

Could also fit one of these if you didn’t want to enlarge holes

Euro outlets are not permitted in UK bathrooms any more than BS1363 types are - the same requirement of more than 2.5m from the edge of the bath applies, as would RCD protection and the rest.

Whether that 2.5m restriction should exist in BS7671 is another matter entirely.

The advantage of euro sockets is that there will not be an abundance of appliances in a UK house to plug into them and cause a danger.

So no likely hood of dropping a toaster into a bath.

Shaver chargers can also be plugged into them, and fit perfectly.

That sort of thing looks useful - but I'd need it a lot narrower. But no doubt not available as a spare for retrofit.
