Tories Are Gone.

But that"s Germany and Schroeder's money comes from Russia, the the average German isn't affected by it. In the UK, meanwhile, the COVID deals, etc have mainly been paid for by the taxpayer...

It's the EU and Schroeder put the pipeline deals in place and after leaving government, became a sharholder/director of (4?) Russian utilities.
My response was to an idiot suggesting all corruption stems from Brexit, conveniently ignoring worse corruption in the EU, and Germany in particular.

the the average German isn't affected by it.

Are you serious?, do average Germans get free gas then?

You could add together every Conservative brexit money maker, covid deals, etc etc etc and no doubt it would amount to an awful lot of money.

Compare it to what Gerhard Schroder has made from Russian pipeline deals and making the EU totally reliant on Russian gas, it would amount to a p155 in the ocean.
GS means nothing to me or the poor in the UK. Does he pay tax here? Don't know why you keep bringing him up. Meanwhile, rich Tory chums/donors rub their greedy chubby hands with glee at the prospect of Brexit Britain.

Hopefully Labour will win and change to PR, locking Tories out forever.

This country is being destroyed by Conservatives and their vested self interest.

not that Labour would be great - they wont win without Murdoch.

You won't have a referendum on PR until Labour can do some kind of deal with the Liberals.

We have a pipe coming here as well. A country wants gas and doesn't have it. What do you think they should do? ;) Employ you and get you to talk into the pipes might help a bit but sadly just hot air. They went for the easiest source of gas. Hardly surprising really. Schroder is more or less irrelevant.

Some say they don't understand Germany and nuke power stations - the got it wrong which makes things worse for them. It's down to politics and the electorate. Potted history.

There is a chance our politics will go the same way. The Greens here are a bit like the SNP. They make the changes sound oh so simple, done overnight etc. LOL Bit like Brexit really especially the get it done version.

I doubt if there will be another one, A better option might be ban coalitions. That way the parties are more likely to have to come up with things all agree with. Try to make them work together rather than concentrating on the next election. In some ways that is all they care about.

What you've said is a contradiction: how would banning coalitions make parties more likely to work together?

Easy if the group who could form a coalition didn't they could vote to prevent bills being passed. They need to have common ground to form a coalition so it would tend to limit extremes.

:) The idea has interested me since one of the BBC's usual general election pundits hoped that the LIbs would do this rather than as he put it accepted a few Libs getting company cars - ie becoming cabinet members. They did go for that.

The Libs should have common ground with both parties. However getting votes with statements that can't be met was a bit extreme in the instance where they had enough votes to form a pact with the Tory. Free university for instance - they obviously hadn't costed it or maybe forgeting that allowed a tax allowance increase but that area is usually pure Tory - a vote catcher.

PR tends to increase the chances of coalitions which is why neither main party wants it and the Libs do. There can be a catch though. People like Farage with plenty of money backing him for campaigning. Something he lacked until being an MEP gave him access to the media.

No Coalitions means that a party who has 34% of the vote can drive through extreme policies.
Even though 66% of the country/electorate do not wish that policy.
Coalitions produce stable government

Russia is no power block, they are a third tier economy, a paper tiger and a former power
Napoleon and Hitler thought the same same thing.
The above were at the top of their game, they started believing their own propaganda and had a go at Russia.
They weren't just defeated, they were annihilated.
