Trade Waste Disposal

Don't forget with Hippos you have to figure in the time you're saving not running to and fro the tip.

Wanna be carefull using domestic waste services, if the council catch you they'll go bananas.

Same story here, council make it as difficult as possible for those of us that try to be law abiding. I also pile it on the drive then get half a ton or so taken away, but one of the neighbours is being A-hole at the mo, evan though the rubbish is out of view unless you're actually stood on my driveway.

i got stopped last week in a police/dvla/council stop check on a main route. As i was driving my transit tipper the council guy was over to me like a shot asking about waste disposal. I carry a copy of the certificate in the truck. They do seem to be more hot on it these days.

just a quick note on this, borrowed a van to shift some junk and was told at the municipal tip (Wythenshaw manchester) that is would cost £100 per ton because I came in what looked like a builders van......., on a Wednesday........ between 3 and 5pm........ NO 'kin wonder people fly tip.

i used to do the rubbish in the misses car thing but now have a waste licence, i got lucky and didnt have to pay for it, did a contract job for a company and they gave me one last year, and its got an expiry of sept 2010 :) happy with that! plus i charge a small "handling fee" for waste to be removed!

Its a constant pain in the back side to get rid of my waste! When i had a partner van i never had any problems getting rid of waste at the tip, now i have a transit its a nightmare!
If the job warrants it i will get a skip but when you have only abit of waste i usually have to wait till i have enought then get a skip on the drive(the missus goes mad lol)
As Old says is it any wonder people fly tip!
I have now found a farmer who take all my clean rubble and old slates but i don't know how long this will last.
Cheers
Dave

I am in the same boat, not a lot of rubbish. Closest trade waste site is 35 miles away and about £80 odd per tonne!!! I have a domestic tip about 2 miles away and it is free in the car.
I downloaded the EP (waste carriers permit) application forms and there seems to be nearly 20 pages to fill in!!! They don't make it easy

what peeees me off is, they charge a randsom at the tip, expect you to use the back area full of nasties, get punctures at £250 a tyre and then have the check to ask you to sort it and place in the dedicated bins.

Got pulled twice by the council once just driving down the road,

you have to be able to prove how you dispose of your trade waste so you need to keep all of your waste transfer notes, otherwise you've had it !

Waste is really a big money spinner now but youd think the councils would give tradesmen a bit of leeway as long as they didn't take the p. If the trade
Lads were given a bit of space then there might not be as much fly tipping
And the countryside would not get spoiled
