What did it 'trip out'? Can you perhaps provide us with a photo of the device in your CU which tripped? So when I plugged in this big microwave/cooker combi thing it didn't work so changed the fuse in its plug and it tripped out in consumer unit. Has the device had it?
No but there's a kettle underneath. Could the steam have damaged it?Had you recently cleaned in inside ?

It would be good to be sure.I think it was this that tripped out can plug device in again to be certain

Yes, very possible - but, there again, it could just be a could just be a couple of wires 'touching' or suchlike, which might be trivial to repair. As @FrodoOne says, if there is a fault large enough to trip a 32 amp MCB, likely the unit is US.
Sorry about delay getting back. Yes worked OK before. Other things work ok in the same socket and don't trip. Wonder if it's the kettle underneath putting steam into the underside of machine. So, best to just buy similar sized device to fit brackets? It would be good to be sure.

Can you plug other things (e.g. your kettle) into that same socket and use it without anything tripping?
It certainly sounds like a cooking appliance which is dead, in which case, as has been said, replacement is probably more appropriate than attempting to get it repaired.Sorry about delay getting back. Those brackets may be adjustable. So, best to just buy similar sized device to fit brackets?
You shouldn't deliberately try to get a protective device to operate by energising a known fault. JohnW2 misadvised you there.View attachment 364743View attachment 364744
