Hi,

I installed a Triton t80z in place of an older Triton model. Since installation it doesn't want to start after another person has taken a shower.

If I stand and hold power on and run on cold it appears to resolve after about 5 minutes and will start normally.

This is annoying as a new shower.

I tried backing mains pressure a little and one time it ran better and another time it did the same thing. I'm assuming it regulates in pressure in itself so full water pressure into it is best?

Thanks in advance for any tips and advice.

Are you saying that when you press the start button that no water comes out or are you saying that water comes out but remains cold for 5 minutes, holding the power on will achieve nothing, when you press the button once it starts the shower, when you press it again, it stops the shower, if the flowrate is too low then the showering temperature if it reaches 48C will result in aTCO (thermal cuto out) cutting the power to the heating elements, it will then reset automatically to resore the power but the shower will run hot/cold until the flowrate is (if it can) increased which you probably know anyway. These showers are sensitive to mounting them, if the surface to which they are mounted isnt level then they may not start, might resolve it by removing the cover and slackening the three mounting screws a 1/4 to 1/2 turn or so.

Fresh morning after several hours of no use it will turn on and work as designed.
After first person has finished a shower it will not start for at least 30 mins unless you turn all dials to cold and hold on for a few minutes.
So it will not start/flow water after someone has finished for at least 30 mins.
Thanks for the level tip, I'll check as that makes sense.

So the shower works perfectly fine for one person ? If so ,how soon after that does the next person experience the problem?
Edit ..just read your last post. What do you mean by it doesn't start ? No water flows out whatsoever, or water flows but isn't hot ?

Yes, person one enters presses start and it works normally.
After person one has finished it has an extremely long cool down period/maybe not cooling down idk.

Please answer the question what do you mean by it doesn't start ? No water flows out whatsoever, or water flows but isn't hot ?

Person one presses start shower works as designed turns on and runs several minutes without issue.
Person 2 enters less than 30 mins after person 1 and presses start to nothing. No water flow no start. Only way to get flow is to hold start button.

Thanks.

Cheers. Sounds like you may have a faulty shower.
If the shower box isn't distorted / flat against the wall ,contact Triton for warranty claim.

I don't have a the receipt anymore but it's less than 12 months old. I take it I'm out of luck for any claim?

Has it behaved like this from new?,

Have a look at the bottom right hand corner of the shower and if there is a slight gap insert a thin bit of plastic "shim" at this corner, try this before slackening the mounting screws.

You did mount it at the indicated mounting points??.

Images of mine.

Yes been like this since day one.

It looks like a mounting problem, theres really no problem with slackening the 3 screws as the shower hangs off the top "keyhole" in the shower.

OK, I'll try this thanks.
It has a level sensor?
