If the SC had thrown out the case, or his lawyers had managed to convince the judge otherwise, then yes, it would have been galling.

As it stands (Trump is a convicted felon and rapist), it's the best result anyone could have wished for. They got it over the line, which is nothing short of incredible, considering.
