A survey conducted in late June from the University of Chicago found that there is now more support for violence against Trump (10% of American adults, or 26 million people) compared with violence in favor of Trump (6.9%, or 18 million people). Until January, the survey showed there was more support for violence in favor of Trump...And of the 26 million American adults who support violence to prevent Trump from regaining the presidency, more than 30% own guns and almost 80% have access to internet organizational tools.

The gun lobby is rather powerful in the US. Some misunderstanding likely here. Shooting is a sport and hunting can figure. Both go in he UK. Shotguns are the ones most misused and also the easiest thing to get a licence for. Compared with ownership levels problems are infrequent, There are also problems with replica guns that use low calibre bullets. Not really the guns but people who open ranges where people go in and just spray stuff around with little if any supervision. The main problem is bullets leaving the confines of the range. Good job these guns use relatively low power 22 bullets.

They've recently started installing vending machines throughout Texas, Alabama, and someplace else, i can't recall where. Guy who came up with this merry wheeze actually made a case for them, saying you can buy ammo over the counter in a store and more often than not your I.D is rarely checked - especially if they know you, or a regular customer. Also, internet sales are virtually unlimited as you can buy them anywhere in the States, have them shipped without once showing an I.D card.
The vending machines require you to put I.D into the machine, then you're scanned with facial recognition software to make sure you match up with the I.D, a record is made of the purchase then you get your goods. Sounds mad but it sort of makes sense.

Interesting opinion piece in the JP yesterday about how history has turned such that Jews have far more to fear from the hard left than the far right. In France jews are leaving in rising numbers for fear of the hard left achieving pole position. In the UK Labour lost 4 seats to Islamist terror supporters and in the US there's just been an assassination attempt on the right wing presidential candidate.

It appears the Left are going beyond rhetoric.
