They’d need to be pretty meaty, and supported at the ridge by a steel probably. That’s what trusses generally avoid the need for, as they can’t spread.

Impressive What's the rationale behind doing it with raised tie trusses? Nowhere to support the other end of a structural ridge, or purely build speed?
You are meant to nail into the glide holes only until the weight of the roof is in place. You are then supposed to add the remaining fixings once the roof is on.What do you think of these glide shoes, if one nails into the top holes, surely it defeats the purpose of getting these if they can slide. The ones with the same top holes as what's on these would help the movement.

That's what I do. Rarely are any of our jobs similar so neither are the roofs. I have good rapport going with a fella from Trussform (Matt) really knows his onions and can visualise most things I blab to him down the phone.Why not ask the truss supplier
