TV aerial alignment meter

This is a detached house, I don’t want to fit an outside aerial, and there is no cmineynor suitable wall.
If I were to fit ‘on’ a wall
I’d need to add 10’ pole .

My choice is a loft aerial, I’ll see if I can optimise direction and pitch to make sure it as good as can be.
I contacted ‘Aerials & TV’ a site recommended here, they’re advising for a loft mounted aerial at my location the optimum is the XB10A.

I have not purchased yet though.

My current aerial is wider band and 5dB less gain, it was installed over 20 years ago and prior to 3G, 4G and importantly 5G transmissions arrived in the area.

Thanks to all for comments.

That is the problem.
20+ year old wideband will have most of it's gain in the upper frequencies of the UHF band - and most of those have been sold off for other purposes with TV reception moved to the lower frequencies.

and the wrong aerial to use even then and you have been living with inadequate reception for 20 years it must be concluded? Or something else has changed to affect reception (buildings, trees, cables and connections,?).

Kilvey Hill is Group A and always has been

A grouped aerial would always have given better reception (better gain) than that bacofoil job. Even a contract 18 element aerial!

Have an experiment:
Take your aerial from the loft, fix it to a stake in the ground on the West-facing side of your building and compare the PVR and TV signal readings for the two locations: in loft and outside.

(Naturally try to find a spot where there are gaps between other building and shrubbery to the West to allow the aerial to actually 'see' Kilvey Hill and tilt it up a few degrees if you can.)
