Have a 40" set I would like to mount on the edge of an alcove, ideally swinging thru like a door behind which I will install a shelf to take dvd, Wii etc so it's not all on show .
Need a 400mm mount but everything I have seen tends to swing on a short arm from the centre which won't have the required travel I need.
Anyone know of a solution? , may just have to make up my own bracket.

Thanks already done that, nothing suitable, all seem to be cantilever and I need one rigid arm which will adjust to a centre of around 20" to allow mounting to side wall and not the rear which is what they all appear to be designed for.

Chuffin heck. How much does a 40" TV weigh? I think you'll need an RSJ.

please bare in mind the wall construction if using a swing arm for a 40".

If you are using it to pull out all the time, Plaster board walls are naff!

Try AVF range. they are quite comprehensive and have a lifetime guarentee.
Hope it helps!
