Then what you need is something like this

That connects to the cable modem you picture above, you can then connect over wireless or using an ethernet cable

I'll have a look at the girlfriend's tomorrow. (router that is).

Give VM a call and ask them about giving you a wireless router. This connects into the etherenet socket on the modem and from the back of the router you'll have 4 sockets to connect up to 4 computers and of course the wireless connectivity. ;) ;) ;)

PS, If they try to charge you for the router, tell them your thinking of leaving their service. They'll soon chuck one your way. ;) ;) ;)

I looked today and she has a wireless router with 4 sockets plugged into the broadband modem. She's just got to find the CD that came with the router.

We have a Belkin54g wireless router, a 20Mb Virgin Broadband & a house full of laptops!!

When everyone(can be up to 4 laptops/smart phones) are on-line it works fine. But you can be streaming a telly programme with only one laptop in use & the Router or network or something goes down!! The only way to re-establish the service is by turning off the Router & then back on again(re-boot it).

Is the Router too small?? Is there a problem with the Virgin Broadband??

Thanks for your help.
