Hi

Previously posted that our boiler was making loud groaning noises following BG service. Thankfully these have been fixed following a follow up visit to reset etc.

However, we now find that the shower (especially) but taps as well take what seems like an eternity to heat up. Previously the shower got to a reasonable winter operating temp within about 10 seconds but now it seems more like 60!!

Is it likely that in fixing the original problem he has caused this.

Are they on commission to create probs when they didn't provide the boiler in the first place??

Very frustrated.

Many thanks

L

You may be frustrated but that is no excuse to even suggest that their engineers are on a commission to cause faults on any boilers even one's they did not install.Call them back in and I'm sure they can address your problem.

What Worcester model is it?

Are you sure they haven't just turned off the pre-heat/warmstart/comfort mode if it's a feature on your boiler?

is ure boiler a newish wb greenstar??does it have a mini expansion vessel on the mains cold water inlet to boiler??these greenstars req an expansion vessel to absorb expansion when hw preheat is on if they dont they can make loud banging noises,bg may have come out and just turned the preheat off hence it taking ages to heat water.

Hi again

Worcester Greenstar 30CDI and about 12 months old. No idea whether it has an expansion vessel etc? All I know is that before the BG visit the boiler was purring with no noise and the shower warmed up toute suite.

Following the visit the noise started (not banging-more like a groaning).

Following the second visit the noise went but the the shower takes ten times longer than before to warm up.

I'm no Corgi Engineer or Hercule Poirot but tdoes thiss equence suggest that the boiler is capable of warming up quickly without the noise?? I.e Preheat possible with no banging noise etc.

I will call em but I'm just not confident that they'll sort it.

I'm not sure bg can have caused a problem on a service, it's common knowledge a bg service only involves poking a flue gas analyzser in the terminal as posted here with monotonous regularity.

Use em cos have 5 star maintenance contract or whatever they call it these days. As in previous post am I right in thinking that it must be possible to combine the pre heat with no noise on this boiler as that is what I got before their first fateful visit.

L :( :( :( :(

The CDi will hapilly modulate down despite being in sweep mode. If the numpty isn't aware of this (and hasn't unclipped the diverter motor) he could have stuffed up the CO2.

Then cancel it.

I will call em but I'm just not confident that they'll sort it

Why would you pay a company for something you don't think you will receive?

Sorry but my pet hate is people who complain about something and then continue to use the company
