Two Way Dimmer Fitting

Sorry. I thought it had been swapped back to a standard dimmer.

I have removed the varilight and put back the dimmer that was on it existing with the way the wiring was

... with LED dimmable bulbs ... the lights dont go out but i fitted everything as it was before with 2 dimmers but with GU10 standard bulbs ...

I have replaced with old and same problem

But when I put a couple of standard gu10 in both circuits works perfectly

Not sure what your pictures

I have 12 x 4.5w bulbs up there

OK - sorry - I thought you'd got 2 GU10 LEDs....

Hi, if I recall correctly- The rocker switch should be wired with L feed =C and the L1 is connected to S on the dimmer. If you connected L feed to s on the dimmer you will knacker it !

The rocker switch must be a reactive type as the dimmer only requires a pulse to ramp the lights up or down.

I have ordered a slave dimmer for now as not really getting anywhere at the moment

Will try it with that and report back

Thats unlikely to work.
Sounds like you had a master dimmer and slave dimmer before.

Now you want a standard dimmer and a rocker.

The old wiring set up is different to the wiring set up you will need for the new system.
however you most likely have the wires there to reconfigure it,
It is unlikely to work otherwise.

Really you first need to understand how the switching works

Looking at fig 3 your yellow core will be the com to com link shown and the rest is straight forward, but not sure this will work using a slave and rocker

I am comfortable with the rewiring and starting from scratch

What puzzles me is the 4 red wiring coming, 2 of then have tape the same colour

I don't where these 2 come from, I can separate the wiring that goes to the slave but this other bunch of wiring I can't separate as it seems to me as it's two feeds coming from two different switches and as it under the plaster the wires in the switch are mixed up

As edited above, look at fig 3 of the second link.

There is not 4 reds, treat each switch of the double seperate.
Two of them are for the other switch, nothing to do with the two way.
Though the brown wire is used to supply power to the 2 way set up

I understand treating the 3 switches seperate

I can wire slave part easy, and I know what the brown wire does

If someone can tell how the other 4 I think I be sorted

Slave arrived today

Worked as it should with the 10 LED dimmable and 2 standard GU10

Take the standard GU10s out and the lifts don't go out properly or work as they should

It certainly sounds like a problem of the dimmer's 'minimum load'. Is this still the one which says "10W minimum" (your LEDs clearly account for much more than that)?
