What we get for our money is not to have to fight wars in Europe any more and a power base which allows us to say 'no' to the Americans.

Do you think someone should tell Tony?

We often hear this war scenario as some kind of justification for the EU. In reality there have been no problems bad enough to consider war in Europe recently anyway. The EU are claiming credit for a non existent situation.

Countries will act in their own best interests regardless of the EU, unless, as they intend, we become one state, one army etc.

When did we ever say no to the Americans, surely you haven't forgotten Iraq yet?

The vision of a United Europe is not a new idea... I think someone else had similar ideas in the past?

Yes, you're right, unless we leave the EU now, all the men and women who died in the two world wars will have died in vain and have been betrayed. We were conned and led into the EU by cheats, liars and traitors. We might just as well have handed over the keys of the Bank of England to Hitler in 1939.

It would be interesting to come back in a 100 years to see what is happening :!:

They'll probably be trying to stem the flow of illegal European immigrants leaving Europe trying to find jobs in India, etc. seeking a better way of life what with the high standard of living, high wages and first rate social and health services...

African countries will be fast developing due to the vast revenues created by the new solar farms supplying 58% of Europes energy requirements since fossil fuels were deemed illegal by the Global Union.

The former United States Of America, never recovering from the civil wars that occurred after the banning of fossil fuels has continued into a ever increasing hotbed of bitter disputes between the once oil rich states and green factions.

The ban on fossil fuels also heavily affected all the Middle Eastern Countries, resulting in widespread famine and poverty. Even the with the newly formed United Arab States, and aid efforts by the wealthy nations of Sudan and Ethiopia, the struggle continues.

Australia is celebrating its millionth episode of neighbours.

OK, a little far fetched, but it could happen...

(the neighbours thing :p )

Devon and Cornwall will have ratified UDI (Unilateral Declaration of Independence).. Remember good old Rhodesia ? bet they wish they hadn't bothered now, and 'they' will not be alone either !!

Declaration of UDI
"In the lives of most nations there comes a moment when a stand has to be made for principle, whatever the consequences. This moment has come to Rhodesia. I pray, and I hope other Rhodesians will pray today, that our government will be given the wisdom and strength to bring Rhodesia safely through.
I call upon all of you in this historic hour to support me and my government in the struggle in which we are engaged. I believe that we are a courageous people and history has cast us in a heroic role. To us has been given the privilege of being the first Western nation in the last two decades to have the determination and fortitude to say "so far and no further".
We may be a small country, but we are a determined people who have been called upon to play a role of world-wide significance. We Rhodesians have rejected the doctrinaire philosophy of appeasement and surrender. The decision which we have taken today is a refusal by Rhodesians to sell their birth-right, and even if we were to surrender, does anyone believe that Rhodesia would be the last target of the Communists and the Afro-Asian bloc?
We have struck a blow for the preservation of justice, civilization and Christianity, and in the spirit of this belief have this day assumed our sovereign independence.
God bless you all."
Ian Douglas Smith 11th November, 1965

perhaps we will need a bit of this before too long !!

100 years time

We will be working to December 14th to pay our taxes for the year, that's the good news the bad is the new tax year starts on December 21st.

Waiting lists have gone down for the 3rd year, now you can get treatment within the 5 year period, so that the 100 trillion the nhs costs per year has started to pay off, the minister of health was over the moon and says that will teach all the knockers, who said we didn't need 3 million managers.

Good news on the job front, the 100 millionth IT specialist, has just got a job, bad news there are only a dozen tradesmen left in the country.

Teachers have worked out a new work structure, they work through the 13 weeks holiday a year and now have the rest of the year off, there only comment was they have earnt it, first time in 25 years a pupil left school and could read & write.

. Having worked for the Beeb for many years in the past it came as no surprise that they would try to have a dig at the government at some point or other..
No surprise ?
As long as we have a non labour government the beeb will slag them, their (beaurocratic) jobs depend on the sucker tax payer, just like labour. and i'd never vote conservative after what maggy did to me
Not quite sure where you come to this comment? the beeb gets funding from the licence fee so if you don't watch tv or listen to the radio then you don't have to pay, hardly a tax!
The Beeb are a law unto themselves and will criticise whoever criticises them whether they are labour, tory or whoever, I worked for them for long enough to see their bias on things.

oh come on Mas, the people who died in the world wars fought for their respective countries, I'm sure they wern't thinking of the EU during those times.
Talking of the Bank of England and Hitler did you see the documentary about how his wartime funds were banked over here and altrhough there was talk of freezing his assets during the conflict no action was taken.
Seems Money talks regardless of cost of life.

In a hundred years time there will be members on this forum moaning about Labour still being in government and isnt it time for a change ;)

You know, if it wasn't for the hate-crimes, the ethnic cleansing, the concentration camps, the asylums and the brainwashing, it wouldn't have been too bad

EDIT: I got distracted for a few minutes whilst composing my post: I'm actually talking about Hitler, not the Labour party. However a couple of the issues above still apply
