Hello all. Because I don't know much about mechanics I am left wondering why uni part want to charge me £104 for front break pads and discs yet on eBay they are being sold for £45.00 for four pads two discs?

A mechanic I know is doing the work for a favour so I have got to get the parts?

Cheers.

With so many fake items being sold on ebay are they genuine?

Another factor of course is more are sold on ebay so they can be brought & sold cheaper with no large overheads.

You don't say which car it is, but if its a common make then your ebay price is fine....if its specified as Mintex or similar, so much the better.
The Unipart price is top dollar which an average punter would pay for off the shelf goods.
(I'm fitting discs and pads to a 60 plate Nissan Note tomorrow - a good brand for £42).
John :)

or ask your m8 to get them on his discount from his local supplier.

I get most of my spares from ebay, some are not as good quality as alternative suppliers but most are adequate and very much cheaper and usually arrive the following day.

Sorry, transit connect lwb high top 1.8tdci,

Thank you everyone, I will go for mintex seems middle of both costs, hope that solves the grinding noise coming from the front under breaking.

45 quid for Transit discs and pads is very cheap even by my standards.....I'd want to pay a bit more!
John :)

They are not great for everything but you can get oe spec parts at a fraction of the dealer prices if you need stuff quickly.
