Hi, looking to ask our plumber to fit an unvented hot water tank as we live in a bungalow & need a better head of pressure for some taps & 2 showers. Now, we fitted a 25mm poly main years ago & have a great flow & pressure, so time for an upgrade.
Now most tanks we looked at only have one 22mm outlet. is this ok for two showers ??. On our old unvented tank we had an extra flange/outlet for a second shower. Is this not needed on an unvented tank. ??

Thanks

Not really, with an unvented, what you put in is what you get out. If the mains can deliver 30L/Min @ 3 bar dynamic, that's what you'll get @ the shower through a single 22mm cylinder outlet. A 22mm pipe will happily flow more than enough water to supply 3 good showers, That's exactly how ours run - We have 3 mains fed showers - one is a bath deck shower mixer, the 2nd is a bristan bar shower and the third is a MIRA Activate twin outlet. All 3 are full flow showers.

Yes there is a slight drop in output if all 3 are running at the same time but the system can still run all three quite happily with the WM on downstairs. It will use most of the 210L cylinder up but again will feed those 3 showers @ a suitable temp for enough time.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. we are looking at a 200lt tank & we have 4.1 bar with a flow of 10lt per 28seconds. hopping this should be more than enough. thanks

For the figures to give provide a good dynamic indication, the figures need to be with say 2 or 3 other outlets running at the same time, that would provide a better real time view. If that's what it is then you have more than enough for an unvented to satisfy 2+ hi flow showers at the same time.
