I guess one way to determine things would be just to change one side at a time, and then go for a drive and see how far further the light projects.
On my latest motor, the lamps swivel to see round a corner at slow speeds - and much to my surprise it works very well too.
In fact when you start up, the lamps look left then right, then up and down.....I wondered what the hell was going on at first!
