Dilemma, is there a upvc door lock on the market that allows it to be unlocked with a key from the outside while there is a key on the inside?
I don’t want a thumb fitting on the inside as in theory this could be accessible via the letterbox.
(the client wants the “peace of mind” of a keyhole on the inside).
Thanks

Maybe by buying the "wrong size" cylinder so get one that sticks out too much on the inside. Instead of flush with the handle plate it will be 10mm sticking out. The problem is that the distance when short the two keys touch in the middle.

I have the same trouble with my kitchen door. My wife locks it on the inside and keeps the key in there, and when I get home my key from the outside won't quite go all the way in, so I have to walk all around the house to ring the doorbell and tell her to take the bloody key out!!

When the kids were at home and were still out when we went to bed, we used to lock the door, leave the key in the inside keyhole (in case we needed to get out quick in an emergency) but pull it out halfway. That way we could have a locked door which could still be opened from the outside with a key. I make sure my mum does the same so that we can get into her house in an emergency if the door is locked.

Am I overthinking it? Is it as simple as that?
