Hi,
Have just moved into a new house and noticed that the 'lip' on the bottom of the back door was missing (just three screws where it would be slid into place) and after some heavy rain I noticed water lying on the inside of the bottom of the door frame. I found the 'lip' and put it back on (it fitted on fine) but still have water in the door frame after heavy rain.
I have also noticed that the bottom of the frame has two 'sections' - one at the front and one at the back and they seem to be separated but the water is sitting in the back section (closest inside the house) but not the front. I've also noticed that there are two little drains with covers on the front (outside) of the frame which I guess would normally deal with any rainwater coming inside but there are no drain holes inside the frame (although I have these inside the window frames).
I have exactly the same problem with the front door (although I can't find the 'lip' for this door and will need to buy one - if they're available in isolation!) no drain holes inside the frame but there are on the outside.
This is making me wonder if there should be drain holes at the bottom or not?
Can anyone help?
