The stupidity of brexiteers grows in proportion to their desperation in trying to find a non existent 'bonus'...

Firstly the tariff difference is because there are trade 'negotiations' ongoing...

And I wonder what the orange rapist will demand in return?

Secondly the UK is now a bit player in the scheme of things, and without the EU is powerless to retaliate...

So brexiteers are in fact simply ignorant little englander surrender monkeys!

The bitterness of remainers knows no bounds. All we used to hear was "loss of tariff free trade" between the EU after Brexit and lauding, nay, rejoicing the EU for imposing tariffs on the UK. Now, because another country wants reciprocal trade tariffs with other countries it deals with, they are screaming "Boohoo, it’s not fair". Make yer mind up! As I said, it’s a Brexit bonus although why you lot are bothered what the EU will have to pay the USA, beats me. You should be glad we are paying less to export to the USA than the EU but I guess it just sticks in your craw. Tough.

The problem with that analysis is that the reciprocal tariffs are not based on the actual tariffs which other countries impose. The EU puts an average tariff of just over 1% on US imports. But Trump has now put a tariff of 20% on EU exports to the USA. It is a classic case of working backwards to get the result you want.

We are paying what we used to for our exports, as are the EU. Tariffs don't change that.

Trump doesn't understand it either.

So we were already paying 10% and the EU were paying 20%? Brexit bonus then - I’m surprised the remoaners weren’t moaning about that.
