I'm wanting to provide isolation for an inverter for both the AC in and the AC out(s). Rather than having big bulky 80a rotary isolators next to the garage CU (potentially with minimal space inside the isolators for wiring), is there any reason why I cant just add a small 4way CU next to the existing one with an adidtional 2 100a main isolation switches? Would certainly be cheaper, rated for more than the potential max loads, smaller space taken and look neater (imo).

Thanks in advance.

I see nothing wrong with that as long as A) it is well labelled and B) it is safe for the invertor (bear in mind it may be trying to supply a specific current and with no load the voltage could theoretically rise to a very high potential).
Can I ask why you wish to have an 2 isolators side by side?

Just for clarification its a victron multiplus inverter and will (should) only raise the voltage / frequency marginly in order to feed the house over the supply. The only reason to have the isolators side by side in a small enclosure is just so it can fit on the existing cement board alongside the garage CU and its cheaper (and i feel looks better). Otherwise I would potentially need to purchase 2 80a isolators and I think they look a bit too industrial and uneccesary and maybe a bit less room for the wiring over a CU enclosure.

I've just realised this is a DC to AC inverter (I had imagined it being a variable speed drive!) What you describe is avaiable as a 4 module block including a 2Pole DC rated isolator in a labelled enclosure as you describe. Where I don't know but I've seen a few in solar installations.
