I got one of these to do a quick repair whilst I have a piranha pup. The flex has got like cotton threads wrapping around the live and neutral. Do I need to keep that wound round up to the connector or can I trim it off?Without changing the cable, you could try a round flex connector; it may be less likely to snag on furniture - perhaps something like this?
