just had vaillant combi turbomax pro24einstalled plus new radiators and trvs, loud rushing noise coming from radiators, installer says this is caused by the pump and nothing can be done, any ideas as this is driving me nuts. thanks,

It may be as a result of poor balancing or just air in the new system.

You should not be able to notice significant noise 2m away from the rads.

Tony

After about the first 20 minutes there should be little or no noise coming from the boiler, pump, rads or whatever

You may get an occasional rattle like iron filings in the pipes but that is just very small air bubbles.

Sounds to me like he hasn't commissioned, purged and vented the boiler/system properly.

Do you know if he loosened the auto air vent in the boiler?

Get him back to do his job properly

i have already had 5 visits from different so called heating engineers as i keep calling them out and refuse to listen to the rubbish they are telling me but i dont know what else i can do

Are you paying for all these call outs

If installer is adamant its the pump then you should have a warranty call placed to Vaillant.

NO correctly working vaillant pump will be noisey, or any other manufactures pump come to that.

I know we are not there to hear it or inspect, but I think you are being fed a load of old sh1te

Are all these other engineers his mates?

What make of thermostatic valves are fitted?

What make of lockshield valves are fitted?

Are thermostatic valves fitted to all radiators? (shouldn't be)

If you fully open all the valves does the noise diminish?

Do the radiators all heat up evenly with all the valves open?

What does it say on the valve top - if there is nothing printed they will be Chinese/Indian rubbish.

All the radiators should not have TRV's fitted.

A central area normally the hall or living room should have a thermostat on the wall and NO TRV fitted to that radiator.

It appears to be another botched installation - is the benchmark booklet filled in?, has the installation been notified to Corgi and have you recieved you building certificate?

i cant see anything on the valves no i havent received anything from installers, the first so callled engineer to call mucked about with the factory setting, turning them down, the second guy bled radiators and told me to leave all valves open and work CH from boiler, the third guy told me not to bleed the radiators as the boiler would sort this out, the fifth guy is blaming the pump

If the pump was making all the noise then it would happen when you get hot water as well!

Sounds like horrendous air in the system. They obviously don't know what they are doing.

Are they registered?

Are you in a house or bungalow. If bungalow are pipes on drops to rads?

Try turning off all rads bar 1 and see if any air can be pushed just to taht one.

yes they are registerd, cant understand why, i did ask them if they had attended bullshit classes, anyway i will try what you say and thanks for your help this damned central heating has taken over my life

Contact corgi and demand an inspection as you don't have any paperwork and the system clearly doesn't comply with building regs so who knows what other problems you may have.

Dont take any **** from corgi they get paid to sort out the cowboys, insist they come out and get it resolved.
