Vaillant Ecotec Plus 620 vr10 vr66 DHW issue

The only issue remaining is the thermostat it replaced on the hot water tank was part of a dual thermostat which also housed the hot water limit which is meant to be wired into the boiler system power... Word of warning that some cylinders have a coupled thermostat and hot water cut off thermostat.

The thermistor end, only needs to be in contact with the metal of the cylinder, pushed in under the insulation, around 1/4 up from the cylinder bottom.

How did you get on with setup and making it safe to the regs? I have the same boiler and just waiting for the electrician to wire up the VR66. Out of interest what cylinder do you have the VR10 connected to? I have a Megaflo CL145 but im not sure if there is a way to connect the VR10 because as far as im aware the cylinder doesnt have a pocket.

Unsure on my cylinder, but it does have a pocket. All cylinders come with a high limit thermostat, so they just wired the feed through the high limit stat and then into the control centre which makes it safe. The additional stat we just poked into the same socket

If you have a plumber and or electrician that you trust they'll do it right. If unsure take some photos and post them on here for the very kind and wise community to help advise

Hopefully this helps, good luck!

The boiler rocks, the setup is awesome. I oversized my radiators they go low and slow and the house temp is perfectly level

The whole thing is in fact much simpler to connect up, than a standard control system, everything goes to, or from the VR66, which is nicely marked up.

You don't need a pocket for it, just slip it in tight against the tank, under the insulation.
