Hi, am in a bit of a pickle.....

So I have the vaillant ecotec pro 28 with timer, and when I was installing hive thermostat as in manual. Took the 24V RT bridge wire out, then connected hive to the 230V RT pin, set everything up and about 10 minutes after putting the heating on through the thermostat the pressure went up to 3.1bar and the display started flashing. Now it didn't show any error code. I've also seen egg timer sign come up, which I haven't noticed before. Up to now I've always just changed the temperature on the boiler and switched it on and off as needed. Has anyone here tried to connect it with hive, or has anyone had a similar issue?

Thanks for replies.

Pressure rising to 3 bar when heating is on would likely be a problem with the expansion vessel .
What was pressure before boiler was turned on ?

I am not sure what was it yesterday, but I've left the heating off over night and this morning was 1.2bars.

If it rises to 3 bar when heating is on your EV needs attention

What does the E stand for? Is it the valve that's meant to relieve pressure that rises due to vapour?

Thank you.

One more question, does thermostat (hive) overrides the set temperature of water in heating system? Because without hive when set to 45 degrees the pressure was 2,4bars, went over 3.0bars when set 50 or over. With hive connected, temperature on boiler was set to 45 degrees, pressure went over 3 bars within 20 minutes.

Hope that makes sense.
