Veismann vitodens boiler problem

We still have the cop out of having to comply totally with the MI's. Even where the engineering has advanced beyond when they were written.

ALL modern boilers have thermal cut outs at what? 87? 90?

Currently, and i can't remember who, I think a couple of firms have said that it is all their kit then the separate two-port valve is unnecessary.

Look at all these storage combi's - technically unvented cylinders, yet not a two-port valve in sight.

About time the rules were looked into again. Especially as we pay for assessment every 5 years and get taught the same old sh*t everytime.

Do you get a G3 card now Dan or just a sheet of paper still.

This is a debate which should continue. Clause 3.21 of G3 reads:

"If an indirect supply of heat to an unvented storage system incorporates a boiler, the energy cut-out may be on the boiler."

Nothing further is required. Modern boilers include at least an overheat thermostat, and all current Vitodens have also a flue gas overheat sensor. These both require a manual reset of the boiler if they trip.
