Vertical DPC when EWI bridges existing DPC?

Hi, we are installing EWI the bridges the DPC I'm concerned that this might create a bypass for moisture.

How substantial is the risk of this?

My spontaneous idea is to install a vertical DPC from the existing horizontal DPC downwards. Are there reasons not to do this?

Many thanks

The EWI should terminate at existing dpc. I dont understand your reasoning for a vertical dpc.

I read in at least a couple of threads that it makes good sense to continue the EWI below the DPC.
I now have asked our contractors to follow the design in the drawing here, and add a plastic lip into the EWI at the height of the DPC:
E.g. https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/external-wall-insulation-below-dpc.473494/

That avoids the need for a vertical damp barrier.
