Vertical internal crack through both floors

I went to view a house which is 100 years old semi detached house but has an internal crack in the corner of the dining room and also the bedroom directly above.

I have attached pictures, just wondering if anyone has experience of this and has any idea of costs to rectify this and likely cause?

I realise it may be a big ask as could be hard to comment but just wanted to get some thoughts.

It's 100 years old. Something's moved a bit as often happens in old houses. Could be serious, or then again it might not. The only way to know is to get it surveyed. It's impossible to tell what it is on a forum.

On the outside yes there is a drain pipe that goes all the way down to a drain at the bottom.

On the otherside of this same wall inside is a kitchen downstairs and bedroom upstairs but there is no crack on the corresponding wall in these rooms on the other side. That I could see. Hope that makes sense.

OP,
1. The skirting below the rad has pulled away from the wall, and the wallpaper in the skirting corner is loose.
2. The window opening is too close to the return wall.
3. Does the opening extend further to the right hand?
4. Has there been a knock-thro in the kitchen or dining room? Any lintelling below?
5. Is the outside rendered?
There are more checks that could be made but a RICS surveyor or a SE might be needed.

Yes rendering outside see attached, maybe it is serious and will require a surveyor. Otherside of wall in kitchen also attached.

The retrospectively added render outside and panelling inside makes me suspicious. It could have just been fashion at the time, or maybe someone wanted to cover something up, possibly before a previous sale a few decades ago.

In the second photo in the yellow room it looks like the wall with the window is moving away from the internal wall.

I just wouldn't buy anything where render has been added, I'd have run away from it before booking a viewing. There are plenty of houses around, you just need to save a search on Rightmove with Alerts and wait for a decent one to turn up, instead of dredging through the rubbish left on there that nobody wants. Stick to bricks or stone!
