Agree with the suggestions so far:
- Reduce the number of programs running at start-up to the absolute bare minimum. Just search 'Startup apps' from your Windows taskbar.
- Ditch AVG. It's overkill and bloated. Windows 10's own protection paired with regular Malwarebytes scans and common sense is plenty
- And best of all, install an SSD. This will make all the difference in the world and is the single best thing you can do. Don't try to copy anything other than personal files like photos, videos, documents etc from the old drive - just install a fresh copy of Windows on the SSD, copy over your files via USB/external hard drive, install the minimum software you need then format the old drive to be used as storage.
If you can't do the last one, try formatting the drive and reinstalling windows after you've taken a copy all your personal files.
