Hi Everyone,

Can anyone tell me more about this boiler? I can't seem to find a manual for it. It looks like it's only available at wolseley so am I right in thinking it will just be a rebrand of a different model like the vibe max with a different looking case and warranty?

I am looking to replace an ideal instinct 24, which is working but will only modulate down to 4.9kw which is too much for my home it's always cycling. Plus I would also like to go with opentherm which my ideal boiler is capable of with a weather compensation kit and new thermostat but I don't think it's worth spending anything on it given it's oversized at it's lowest output.

Ideally I want a boiler which can be rear piped as its fitted in my kitchen and I plan on getting a new kitchen next year and would like to fit a cupboard around it. Currently the pipework is a bit of a mess with pipes going up both sides of it.

My system only has 6 radiators, sizes below. I do plan to replace the these radiators with some more powerful ones with the aim to run my system at a maximum of 60c flow temperature.

600x600 type 11 (kitchen, plan to replace with a 500x600 type 11)
600x1100 type 21 (living room, plan to replace with a 600x1200 type 22)
600x700 type 11 (hallway, replaced last year due to old one rusted out)
600x800 type 10 (bedroom 2, plan to replace with a 600x800 type 11)
600x900 type 11 (bedroom 1, plan to replace with a 600x1200 type11)
1000x600 towel rail (bathroom, replaced from a 600x600 type 11 due to old one rusted out)

Looking at the manual for the vokera boilers these can be range rated down and the pump speed limited to help with a lower return temperature to get closer to a DT of 20.

Any input would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks.

The excel-i is 25 or 29kW and a Vibe Max with bits taken off made exclusively for Wolseley. No filling loop, Wi-Fi socket, manual dongle, bluetooth timer, less insulation in the casing. Depending on the model they'll modulate to below 3 or 4kW. It will have if my memory serves one fewer pre-heat function but OpenTherm and WC. The pump duty cycle can be set helping to maintain a wider delta T but it is not a delta T pump..

Thanks, which models include the delta t pump? I will be looking to replace the boiler next year fingers crossed and want to get something which will modulate low enough for my system and maintenance the 20c differential. Not too fussed about the filling loop, WiFi, insulation and bluetooth. I plan on fitting an outside sensor and opentherm stat such as the EPH CP4.

It will be fitted inside a kitchen cupboard so will need to be rear wiped.

Delta T pump not as useful in a system running at low temp, less headroom plus it doesn't work with OT. The Unica Max is discontinued, it has the pump but will not modulate low enough for you.
The Synergy and Pinnacle do not have a rear pipe kit although you can mount them on batten, the excel, Vibe Max does.

Main reason for looking at a new boiler is due to the cycling, figured if I'm replacing it I might as well try and get the system running as efficiently as possible.

Would I be right in thinking the easiheat i is the same as the excel i?

Very few differences, might be a little more insulation in one over the other or a preheat or special hot water function etc. The difficulty is I get pre-production ones in the training centre often and the software and finish may be tweaked to suit sales afterwards so difficult to confirm.
